Composting for Beginners Part 3
Composting is a fantastic way to recycle organic waste and enrich your garden soil. But sometimes, it can be tricky to know what items are compostable. Fruit and vegetable scraps are perfect for composting, while eggshells add valuable calcium. Coffee grounds and filters are great for adding nitrogen, and tea bags work well too, as long as they’re free of synthetic materials.
Of course, with all of the materials that are compostable, you’ll want to make sure that you are still keeping your happy little balance. Below is a quick reference guide of what is and isn’t safe. Our friends over at Let’s Go Compost also have a great troubleshooting guide if you are having trouble controlling odors! You can find that guide here.
